The LollapaLUDA Breast Cancer Benefit Speed-Point Hat Tournament* (or LBCBSPHT as we like to call it :) is our annual charity event to benefit Liz's Legacy / UNMC Eppley Cancer Center!

More Information

Registration is from 8:00am-8:30am | Games start at 9:00am

Location: UNL East Campus Fields - Lincoln, NE. See map below.

What to bring: Bring both a white and a dark shirt, cleats or athletic shoes, and a water bottle.

What you get: 5 games of organized, high-spirited ultimate, bagels, banana, & water throughout the day, sweet fields to play on, prizes for the championship team, and an after-party to watch the NU v. Minnesota football game at 2:30pm.

What the heck is Speed-Point?
Speed-Point is a faster variation of ultimate, played 5 v 5 with a few changes to the rules:

Only 2 pulls per game – 1 at the beginning of each half.
After a point is scored, the player with the disc sets the disc on the ground where they caught the score, and an opposing player can either a) initiate play at the spot, or b) bring the disc up to the line to initiate play.
Sub-ins are on-the-fly at mid-field.
Stall count goes to 8 instead of 10.
The field is smaller - 30 yds wide, 50 yds long proper, 10 yd endzones.
Games go to 19, or last 40 minutes, whichever comes first. 2 minute halftime at 10.
Teams will have between 9 & 12 players, depending on the number of registrants.

Schedule / Format: Each team will play 5 games, 45 minutes each. Format will depend on the number of teams:

8 teams - 2 pools of 4 with round robin play; winners & losers brackets afterward.
6 teams - 4 games of up & down tournament play; final games based on seeding.
4 teams - 1 pool with round robin play; bracket play.

After-Party: Join us after the tourney to watch the Huskers play Minnesota at 2:30pm at Brewsky's in the Haymarket! We'll have a private room with 3 flat screens and drink (and possibly food) specials! Location is shown below!
