So, according to UNL Parking Enforcement, parking along east campus loop and the lots to the west of the field are and have always been off limits, and that we have been "very lucky" not to have a problem with enforcement yet (in our 4th season at these fields).  Now that they know that we're there each week, they'll be making extra effort to ticket the bejesus out of us unless we either a) don't park there, or b) purchase temporary permits.  

So we've been calling all around Lincoln to find an alternative location for league, but every place is either booked or way too expensive.  So instead, we'll be subsidizing parking passes for LUDA players so you don't get ticketed.  Aligned with meter rates, the UNL parking passes for 5pm-8pm on Thursdays would be $3.00 per car per night, working out to $24.00 per car for the rest of the season.  The league commissioners think that's ridiculous for players to have to pay, so we decided that LUDA will subsidize these passes so that players only have to pay $10.00 per parking pass, good for the rest of the season.  

So, if you want a parking pass, just come to league, park in the lots to the west of the field, find a commissioner, buy a pass, and put in your car.  Parking enforcement has assured us that you will not get ticketed from the time you park to the time you get back to put the pass on your car.

Now, so our costs don't get too astronomical, we will also be implementing pro-carpooling/biking/walking/hitchhiking measures:

1. Instead of "Flipping" before games to determine who pulls, etc., teams will now Carbon Flip - Whichever team has fewer players who personally drove to the fields will "win" the flip.  Passengers in carpools do not count.  In the event of a tie, do a regular flip.
2. We are setting up a forum on the LUDA Facebook page where people can organize carpools.
3. We suggest people meet at the Risky's/Heartland Pantry parking lot before games to park cars & carpool to the field.
4. If you don't want to pay for parking, you could also:
• Park anyway, and risk getting ticketed
  
• Park in the adjacent neighborhoods and walk to the fields
  
• Carpool / ride your bike / walk / take the bus / hitchhike (hitchhiking not recommended)
  

The parking passes are good for the lots to the west of the field as well as along the street to the south of the fields (East Campus Loop).

Sorry for the inconvenience.  We will do what we can to ensure this is not a problem for future leagues.
