Spring League 2009

Congratulations to the Stimulus Packages, captained by Brad Franklin and Collin Baer, on winning the coveted LUDA Cup for Spring League 2009!

The team's victory is no less impressive for the fact that going into the tournament, they were the lowest seed of all five teams, having won just three games all season. They subsequently had to win three consecutive games against tough opponents to claim the Cup.

Their first game was against the DISCiples, and they battled their way to a win. Their second game was perhaps more intimidating as they faced the regular season champs and number one seed, the Happy Hour Heroes. Yet the StimPacks rallied as a team and handed the HHHs a lopsided loss--just their third loss of the whole season, no less.

With the Happy Hour Heroes out of the way, they had to dig deep and play a third straight game against a tough Ninja Advisory Board team captained by Scott Frohn. The NAB, fresh off of a victory over Adventures In Babysitting, gave the StimPacks all they could handle, but in the end the underdogs pulled off a 13-10 victory for the league championship!
